Different types of pedal:

  1. foot-switch (I recommend upgrading to a better pedal)

  2. sustain pedal

  3. triple pedal (has all 3 found on acoustic pianos)

Different types of action:

  1. Semi-weighted keys are weighted heavier than most keyboards which have light synthesizer action.

  2. Fully-weighted keys are heavier keys like an acoustic piano.

  3. Casio’s “smart scaled” and Yamaha’s “GHS graded action” are similar. Each refers to the fact that the lower keys are a heavier weight than the higher keys. Yamaha’s GHS is lower end and GH or GH3 is an upgrade.
